Consent to the processing of your profile data
DRAFT — awaiting legal review. This text is a working draft; a version approved by a lawyer will replace it.
We have extended the application form, so we ask for your consent again. New in this version: your plans for moving to work abroad (notice period, start date, expected salary, readiness for shift work, passport, family plans, earlier stays in Germany), professional licences and registrations, skills, driving licences, a short text about yourself, your region of residence and a second citizenship.
Who processes your data
[Controller: company name, address and contact details of the data protection contact — to be added by the lawyer.] Below, the controller is called "we".
What we process
- the data you enter in your profile and application: name, date of birth, gender, contact details, country and region of residence, citizenship and a second citizenship, education and the recognition of your qualification in Germany, work experience, language skills and certificates, professional licences and registrations, skills, driving licences, a short text about yourself and your job preferences;
- your plans for moving: desired countries, notice period at your current job, the earliest date you can start, your expected gross annual salary, whether you are ready for shift, night or weekend work (asked only for jobs that need it), whether you have a passport and until when it is valid (we do not store the passport number), whether you plan to move alone or with your family and how many children would come with you, and whether you have stayed in Germany legally for at least six months in the last five years;
- your account data: e-mail address and the language you use the service in.
Questions about family, shift work, the passport and earlier stays in Germany are optional: leaving them empty has no disadvantage for you.
We do not ask about your religion, health or ethnic origin, and we do not ask about your current or previous salary.
Why we process it
- to create and run your account;
- to prepare your application for work in Europe and to match it with suitable vacancies;
- to plan your visa and your move: for example the German mission responsible for you, the right residence permit and the points for the Opportunity Card (Chancenkarte). These are hints for our staff; every decision about you is taken by a person;
- to contact you about your application.
Who sees your data
Our staff see your whole profile. We do not pass your profile to any employer without your separate consent for that specific employer; such an employer then also sees your expected salary. Your date of birth, gender, citizenship, family plans and passport details are seen only by our staff and are not shown to employers.
Legal basis
Your consent — Article 6(1)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
How long we keep the data
Retention periods are being specified by the lawyer.
Your rights
- You can withdraw this consent at any time on the "My consents" page — as easily as you gave it. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before it.
- Without this consent we cannot process your profile: your application is paused until you give it again. You can also delete your account.
- You have the right to access, correct and erase your data, to restrict its processing, to data portability and to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
Using the service is free of charge for candidates.
